Job Title: Voice Engineer
Business Unit: Information Technology

Reports to: Manager, Infrastructure

The Voice Engineer will be part of a team responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining a highly available production voice solution supporting real-time business critical applications

Roles and Tasks:

The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for technology, be an excellent problem solver, and be eager and willing to learn. This candidate must be able to be productive in a fast paced environment and work with minimal supervision.

  • Evaluate and implement new technologies solving complex business requirements
  • Deliver a highly available and stable environment supporting business needs
  • Plan, design, implement, and support configuration changes and software upgrades
  • Proactively monitor the environment devices and resources
  • Resolve in a timely manner and perform root cause analysis of service impacting events
  • Provide technical leadership and act as mentor to fellow team members
  • Act as escalation point for issues from Service Desk team
  • Maintain environment documentation
  • Plan and execute disaster recovery exercises
  • Establish and manage vendor relationships
  • Manage licensing and support contracts
  • Implementation of service impacting changes during off hour maintenance windows
  • Provide 24x7 on-call support for production related issues
  • Perform any other reasonable duties deemed necessary by management

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Industry certifications:
    • Must have current CCNA level certification (CCNP preferred)
    • CCNA-Voice or higher preferred
  • Ability to plan, design, implement and support end to end voice solutions
  • Ability to follow a change management process
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • 5+ years designing and implementing IVR's, AA's, and queues
  • 2+ implementing and maintaining PSTN access (SIP)
  • 5+ years maintaining server and service monitoring and alerting
  • Experience upgrading and managing PBX and Call Center services (CUCM, Zeacom, VPI)
  • 5+ years Windows Server 2008/2012
  • 5+ years Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM)
  • Understanding of VMware preferred
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment while being self-motivated and independent
  • Positive attitude and ability to be a technical mentor to others
  • Experience working in an Agile environment preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, of Information Systems preferred
